October 31, Eau Claire, WI: Them Coulee Boys upcoming release, No Fun In The Chrysalis, finds the Wisconsin folk rock artists reunited with Grammy-winner Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Kathleen Edwards, Sufjan Stevens) for their fifth album. Recorded at The Hive Studios in their hometown of Eau Claire, WI, No Fun In The Chrysalis captures the authentic, unpredictable energy, four-part harmonies and dynamic compositions that Them Coulee Boys have become known for as a live band. Producer Joseph says, “I’ve had the honor to make two records with Them Coulee Boys. I have fallen in love with how they treat people, how they carry forward as a band. Their art is important to me.” The album art features photography by Nate Vrieze, as well as liner notes from best-selling author Nickolas Butler (Shotgun Lovesongs). The LP will be opaque red vinyl and feature a gatefold sleeve. The band has weathered changes in the last couple years as well, most of them personal: New kids, marriages and engagements, and the realities that accompany 10 years in the music business. No Fun In The Chrysalis finds the band still playing, still innovating, and still making room for the many big and little life moments that have made Them Coulee Boys feel like a family, and made the audiences feel like they are part of it too.
